Something for you

This is the final section in our book, Dementia and the family, and therefore, the final section of additional activities to accompany those in the book. There are just two extension activities below, but don’t miss these out!  Please read on for tips on writing your own blog and the all-important one: how to add your own activities to the site.

All the different activities in this book that you undertake as a family – taking pictures of the activities ‘in action’, recording your loved one’s reaction and sharing what you have found to work well. This can be shared with your relatives around the world.

Your family history – capturing the stories, background and achievements of your family over the years. This will become an important record for future generations.

A photographic record of your daily, family life – sharing snapshots of those precious ‘moments in time’ with your loved one. You don’t need to write anything; let your photographs tell the story.

Anything at all which you feel is ‘right’ and should be shared – such as your family life and living well with dementia.

There is lots of advice available on the internet about starting up your own family blog and things you need to think about before you get going. To get you started, click here

There are over 160 different activities in the book, but there are many, many more we haven’t thought of. Our aim is for all family members to be filled with the confidence and self-belief in the difference they can make to their loved one.

Please head over to our ACTIVITIES ADDED BY YOU page, where you will find some guidance on creating your own dementia-friendly activities and a simple contact form for you to wing your ideas over to us. We will then add your activities to our page, for families everywhere to benefit from. Thank you.
